Author Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to Studies in Interdisciplinary Horizons must ensure compliance with all submission and formatting standards. Manuscripts that fail to meet these guidelines may be returned without review.

Please confirm each item before final submission:

  • Originality and Exclusivity: The manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration by another journal. If simultaneous submission elsewhere is unavoidable, a clear explanation must be included in the Comments to the Editor. Once the manuscript is submitted and under consideration by this journal, simultaneous submission to other publications is prohibited unless a formal withdrawal request has been submitted and approved by the editorial board. Withdrawal letters must be sent to: editor@sih-journal.com.
  • Authorship Protocol: The first listed author is considered the lead researcher or principal contributor. The order and identity of all authors must be finalized prior to submission and should remain unchanged after submission.
  • File Format and Template Compliance: Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) documents, using the official journal template. Font style should be Arial, size 12, single-spaced. [Download Template from journal site]
  • Citation and Referencing: All references must follow the APA 7th edition style for both in-text citations and reference lists. Sources should be from the last 5–10 years. All available URLs and DOIs must be included for cited sources.
  • Article Scope and Ethical Compliance: Submissions must contribute new and original knowledge across disciplines and meet global relevance standards. Specific local terms (e.g., barangay) should be contextualized or avoided unless widely recognized. Ethical clearances (e.g., IRB approval, permits for environmental or cultural research) must be documented in the manuscript and attached when necessary.
  • Structure and Formatting: Follow the IMRaD structure: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. Include a separate Abstract (150–200 words) and 4-6 relevant Keywords (including discipline, concepts, methods and location). Use single-spacing throughout. Margins must be 1 inch on all sides of a short bond paper (8.5x11 inches). Tables and figures must be clear, concise, and scientifically supported in the text. Avoid redundant visuals. Submit figures in JPEG or PNG format, optimized for 50% reduction. Use the metric system exclusively and follow APA guidelines for numbers, percentages and abbreviations.
  • Review and Revision Process: Submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Authors must ensure that no identifying information appears within the manuscript or its tools (e.g., survey instruments). Author details must be entered separately through the online submission portal. Revisions must be returned within the editorial deadline. Papers cannot be withdrawn once peer review has started.
  • Article Processing Charges (APC): Upon acceptance, authors will be provided with payment instructions. A processing fee will cover editorial services, peer review and digital archiving.
