Abstract

Private higher education institutions continuously encounter organizational, academic, and administrative challenges requiring effective governance, strategic academic management, and institutional resilience. This study explored the lived experiences of college administrators regarding governance practices, academic management, and organizational resilience in Northeastern College, Santiago City. Using a qualitative phenomenological research design, the study gathered data from purposively selected college administrators, deans, coordinators, and academic leaders through semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis framework. Findings revealed that governance and academic management practices were characterized by collaborative leadership, participatory decision-making, strategic planning, and adaptive institutional management. Participants emphasized that organizational resilience was strengthened through teamwork, leadership adaptability, faculty collaboration, and institutional commitment. However, administrators also experienced challenges related to resource limitations, communication barriers, policy implementation demands, and administrative workload pressures. The findings underscore the importance of transformational leadership and collaborative governance in sustaining institutional effectiveness and organizational resilience in private higher education institutions. The study contributes to higher education leadership literature by providing qualitative insights into governance and resilience experiences among college administrators in the Philippine educational context.
